The Padishah Empress Yvette Hagal-Corrino is a character in the Dune Universe. She was created and mentioned in the Prelude to Dune trilogy.

The Alliance Between the Two Great Houses

Yvette was born on the planet Hagal in the year 10,024 A.G. As a loyal member of House Hagal, she went right over to the planet Kaitain in 10,036 A.G. where she married the 80th Padishah Emperor Elrood Corrino IX as his second wife after her family allied themselves with the Imperial House Corrino.

Yvette Hagal-Corrino was the only person and truly one of Elrood's four wives to be accorded the privilege of sitting on a throne of her own beside her husband's Golden Lion Throne at the center of the top platform in the Selamik-- the Imperial Audince Chamber.

Then the young Empress produced three daughters: Princess Crystane Corrino, Princesss Tara Corrino and Princesss Edwina Richese (b. 10,070 A.G.).

Their youngest daughter, Princess Edwina Corrino did married Count Ilban Richese in 10,090 A.G., and eventually became the great-grandmother of Paul Atreides.

The Padishah Empress died in 10,075 A.G. and her untimely death was succeeded by the Great Houses of the Landsraad.

Over the next generations, her biological stepson, Shaddam Corrino IV grudgingly permitted his wife, Lady Anirul Corrino to do the same thing, albeit on a step far below his throne to the left side.
