Viceroy was the leader of the League of Nobles; they resided on Salusa Secundus.
The first Viceroy was Bovko Manresa. The best known was Manion Butler who was succeeded by his daughter Serena (as Interim) during the Butlerian Jihad.
Serena did not feel she deserved to be called formally Viceroy, until the machine threat was over. The Interim title persisted after her. The full title was restored by Faykan Butler briefly before the Battle of Corrin.
