Vergyl Harkonnen is the father of Valya and Tula Harkonnen.

Behind the Scenes[]

Biography[]

Vergyl lived with his wife and three children: Valya, Griffin, and Tula. They struggled as their family was disgraced. When Griffin decided to go to Zimia to try to improve their family's standing, Valya said he should confront the newly-resurfaced Vorian Atreides and get him to retract what he'd said about their family. Vergyl and Sonia opposed this idea as it would put Griffin in danger. Griffin decided to do it anyway and ended up dead, furthering the divide between Valya and their parents. They sent Valya to Wallach IX to train with the Sisterhood. When she returned, it was because Tula, at her behest, had killed Orry Atreides as many members of his family. Vergyl believed this would put them at risk of retaliation. Valya didn't see it this way and believed they'd just avenged Griffin's death. This led to a fight and Valya used the voice to get Sonia to pick up a knife and nearly had her kill herself. Then Valya and Tula fled, going back to Wallach IX to join the Sisterhood permanently.
