Vera met with Kasha Jinjo, with Vera representing House Richese and Kasha representing House Corrino, to make a deal to exchange resources to secure the engagement of Ynez Corrino to Pruwet Richese. While Ferdinand and Javicco discussed those terms, Vera used her hands to tell Kasha that Ferdinand was targeted Arrakis to sway all the Great Houses. Kasha brushed off her concern, saying the wedding was their focus and they could deal with other issues after that.[1]
When Valya came to see Javicco after Kasha died, she learned that Pruwet Richese had also died in the same way. She walked in on Ferdinand confronting Javicco and signaled to Vera to get the Richeses out of the throne room, which she did.
Valya later privately told Vera she needed to get Ferdinand back under control. Vera said that her counsel had its limits. Valya didn't care and said Ferdinand needed to be brought to heel.[2]
