Thufir Hawat is a character in the 2021 film Dune. He is a Mentat and Master of Assassins for Duke Leto of House Atreides, and he trains the Duke's son Paul. Thufir Hawat is portrayed by Stephen McKinley Henderson.
Character description[]
A master of psychological warfare and head of House Atreides’ security division, Thufir Hawat is a Mentat: a highly-trained strategist whose mind has the infinite processing power of a supercomputer. A grandmaster of cause and effect, he is capable of seeing all possible outcomes to unravel plans within plans, and to protect Paul Atreides from threats seen and unseen.[1]

Differences from the original character[]
Thufir Hawat is adapted from the character of the same name from the original Dune novel. Similar to in the 2000 Frank Herbert's Dune miniseries, Thufir is not seen following the Siege of Arrakeen.
