Sister Theodosia was a talented and ambitious acolyte of the Bene Gesserit who lived in the second century AG. She harbored a dangerous secret about her past.[2]

Biography[]

Theodosia was bred as an experiment by Tlulaxan geneticists and was born with the ability to transform herself into any other person.[3]

Theodosia was training to be a Truthsayer when word spread that the princess Ynez Corrino would be arriving soon to train with them. During their training, Tula showed them a brain and asked who they thought the man had been. Theodosia said he must have been a criminal, but Jen correctly labeled him a survivor. Tula used this to talk about the signs they were learning to spot in people's bodies to know when they were lying. They were all then faced with prisoners and were tasked with determining if they were lying or not. Theodosia determined that her person's words were true, but her intent was to deceive.[4]

When word spread that Kasha had died, Theodosia talked about it with the other acolytes and suggested it was an assassination. She suggested they all keep their guards up. Valya then came to her and said that Theodosia would be coming with her to Salusa Secundus. They made the trip and Valya told her she'd replace Kasha and make herself Ynez's new confidant. Valya took Theodosia to Ynez and introduced them, saying Theodosia would take care of her. Ynez didn't want to get to know her and said she only wanted to know how Kasha died.[5]

Valya and Theodosia were escorted out of the palace, but Valya said it wasn't the first time they'd tried to remove her. Then she took Theodosia to her family's home, where she hadn't been since committing to join the Sisterhood.[6]

Theodosia dined with Valya and her family as Valya laid out her plan, which benefitted both House Harkonnen and the Sisterhood. She persuaded Harrow to agree by having Theodosia used her training to deduce that he was afraid of people laughing at him or pitying him. Theodosia expressed worry that Valya's plan wouldn't go as planned, but she insisted that she wouldn't fail. Later that night, Theodosia tried to ask Valya about her brother, but Valya shut it down and admitted to Theodosia that she'd brought her because of her talent, which Theodosia didn't see as a talent. She also reminded Valya that she never wanted to do it again and she'd been upfront about that. Valya said it would be a last resort.

When Harrow and Valya returned the next day, Valya said she'd failed, but she managed to get some of Desmond's blood, so they could send it to Tula, who could compare it to the breeding index and finally find out who he was. After witnessing Valya arguing with Evgeny and then killing him by refusing to give him his treatment, Theodosia morphed into Griffin, a painful process for her, and told Valya she'd done the right thing, giving her the reassurance she wanted.[1]

After Harrow left to attend Evgeny's funeral, Theodosia asked about Valya's decision to lead Desmond to the rebels and how Francesca factored into that. Valya told her that one day, she'd learn the art of imprinting and she'd understand.

When speaking to Mikaela after her blowing up the underground market failed to kill Desmond, Valya gave her something to get her to their safe house on Arrakis. Mikaela said she wouldn't betrayed her people and Theodosia reminded her the Sisterhood was her people. Mikaela said she was naive and left.[7]

When Valya learned Ynez had been arrested for attempting to free Keiran, she told Theodosia they would free Ynez and get her to safety outside the city until her coronation was assured. She made a plan to get arrested so she could get access to the suspensor cells to free Ynez. Theodosia posed as Ynez to take her place while they got the real Ynez to safety. Once they were gone, Theodosia posed as a guard and pretended to be near death. She whispered to get Desmond to kneel down, then she stabbed him. Desmond ordered a trooper to get Theodosia into suspension.[3]
