Centuries[]

What is the basis of the commentary suggesting that her rule could have lasted centuries? As I remember it, her rule was only ever referred to as a regency, which would have ended when the twins attained the age of majority even if she had not died. 71.32.169.136

  • Probably because she was planning on having the twins assassinated, after which point she would be the heir. Tyc 19:05, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

Question[]

Indeed Alia only reigned after Paul's death, this period could have only lasted around 20 yrs. If Alia was born with many mental powers, why did she need the spice later in life? What happened to her power? Darkseid253 04:01, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • Bene Gesserit still use spice for its longevity properties. While Alia had an early revelation, using it still aided her in entering trances and developing her powers further than the Bene Gesserit are normally permitted to. While she can control her biochemistry to retard the aging process, combining these skill with spice's anti-geriatric properties would have made this easier, less maintenance. Mental image of Baron[]

I notice in the picture that the Baron she is hugging is an obese one. But the memory of the Baron in her mind is supposed to be him at the moment when he passed down the genes, which would be the conception of Jessica via the rape of Gaius. At that point he was not suffering the effects of the disease and was very muscular and not at all obese, according to the prequel novels. Is this a case where the prequel novels contradict the image depicted in the movies since they keep him obese? Is it possible that his previous personality combined with her memory of how he looked prior to killing him in the end of Prophet of Dune? Tyc 19:05, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

Ties with Reverend Mother Mohiam[]

Isn't the blood relation to Gaius Helen Mohiam part of the Expanded Dune? This is a page for the Original Dune Alia, shouln't it be edited out?

Thank you!
