Emperor Sidir (or Saudir[n 1]) VI[1] reigned as Emperor of the Known Universe five times between 1848 AG and 1965 AG, during the Era of the Princes. He was a second cousin of his predecessor, Corrin V.[1]
Sidir's brief reigns and frequent depositions and restorations were the result of the machinations of House Atreides, economically dominant in this period. Phillipos III Atreides and Markos Atreides forced a rapid turnover of emperors, seeking to prevent any one dynast from achieving too much power.[2]
Reigns[]
Sidir first became emperor in 1848, succeeding his second cousin Corrin V. He ruled for fourteen years, until deposed in 1862 and replaced with Corrin V, restored to the throne. Corrin then ruled until 1877, when Sidir was again raised to the throne. Sidir's second reign lasted until 1882, when Corrin was restored to the throne for a second time.[1]
Sidir's third reign began in 1886, when he replaced Corrin's cousin Ezhar III on the throne. Sidir ruled until 1892, when his cousin Audrii III replaced him. In 1935, Sidir was restored to throne again, replacing Corrin VII (Corrin V's son). Sidir was replaced again in the same year, with Corrin V's other son Corrin VI assuming the throne. Sidir was restored to the throne for a final time in 1963, replacing Ezhar III's son Menemtahe III. His fifth reign lasted until 1965, when Corrin V was raised to the throne again.[1]
Sidir had at least two children: Sidir VII and Negara III.[1]
