The Second Republic[1] (4670–4813 AG), also known simply as the Republic,[2] was a restoration of the government that governed the Imperium during the earlier First Republic (4381–4552 AG). The Second Republic was created after a massive popular revolt deposed the tyrannical emperor Mikael II in 4670 AG.[2]
Although there were sporadic revolts by imperial pretenders,[2] such as Daryai Ezhar VI (4722–4731 AG) and his son Elim (4731 AG),[1] the Second Republic remained in place until 4813 AG, when Mikael II returned and retook the throne.[2]
