Emperor Saudir II Negara II,[1] also known simply as Saudir II,[2] was the eighth Emperor of the Known Universe (r. 123–184 AG). He was a son of the fifth emperor, Henoor II Negara I, and claimed the throne after the assassination of Alman I.
Early life[]
Saudir II was the son of Henoor II Negara I, who ruled the Imperium 70–73 AG. After Henoor's death, the Golden Lion Throne was occupied by his brother (and Saudir II's uncle), Elrood I al-Aziz until 104.[1] Elrood I was assassinated in 104, whereafter the throne was assumed by Alman I,[2] Henoor and Elrood's brother-in-law, who founded a new branch of the imperial dynasty, the House of Alman Corrino.[1]
Saudir II, Henoor and Elrood's rightful heir, escaped into exile during this time and apparently received support from Elias Atreides; Alman brought a bill of attainder before the Landsraad in 122, accusing Elias of supporting the prince. Alman was assassinated in 123 before this bill could be acted upon.[2]
Reign[]
After Alman's assassination in 123, Saudir II assumed the Golden Lion Throne.[1] Among his actions as emperor was to reconfirm Elias Atreides in his titles.[2]
Saudir ruled until 184, when he was succeeded as emperor by Alman's son, Alman II.[1]
