Sand compaction tools are smaller devices that use a charge of static electricity to manipulate grains of sand, pushing or sweeping them away, or compacting them into a thicker layer.
They are often (though not necessarily always) included in a fremkit. They also seem to be used by workers on Arrakis, for modifying sand dunes and similar shifting terrain in the open desert.

Portrayal in adaptations[]
In the 2021 and 2024 film adaptations of Dune, Dune and Dune: Part Two, the sand compaction tools are referred to as sand compactors.
