Arrakis planet

The Neta class is a planetary class. The planetary classification system has its origins in Marta Ptahtercicah's work.

Specifically the planets comprising this definition are composed of: 60 ± 10% silicates (by mass), 30 ± 10% metals, 10 ± 5% sulfides and less than 5% hydrogen. During their formation, their surfaces and interiors became molten.

Only some Neta planets exhibit plate tectonics behavior. Arrakis/DE is more tectonically active than any other Neta planet. In the Terran system there were 4 Neta-class planets.

Deserts on Neta planets commonly have whirls.

Although a Neta-class planet, Arrakis has an excess amount of ozone, and very low water vapor in its atmosphere.

Subclasses[]

First digit
This digit is numerical. Its significance is unknown. Arrakis belongs to the category 2.
Second digit
This digit is alphabetic and probably refers to the position of the planet from the primary. Eg. the first planet is A etc. Arrakis belongs to group 2C.
All 2C planets are habitable. Their polar caps have water ice (on Arrakis the amount is small compared to that of other planets of the group. Some of them show surface morphology with mountain chains and grabens that run either north-south or

east-west (this phenomenon is ore pronounced on Arrakis).

Third and fourth digits
These represent a sub-classification, like 50 and 60. Arrakis's classification is 53
Many Neta planets, particularly those of the C and 50 to 60 sub-classifications have sound-emitting sands.
On planets with a 3 classification like Arrakis, the cyclones produce storms.
Fifth digit
An alphabetic digit which represents planetary rotation. In the B class, like Arrakis, the general circulation is broken up into eddies.

Arrakis conforms to the 2C-53B guidelines: 1000 ± 5 millibars mean pressure (planetary), 286 ± 2 degrees absolute planetary mean temperature (annualized), and a mean global wind speed, standard height, of 20 ± 3 kilometers per hour.[1]
