When Kasha Jinjo died, Nazir came to Wallach IX to examine her body in the hopes of figuring out how she died. Nazir's initial exam was inconclusive and she needed to run more tests, but she was able to say that the heat that burned her skin had come from within her body.[1]
After Raquella, while occupying Lila's body, figured out that it was an airborne retrovirus that had infected Kasha and all the acolytes, Nazir figured out that the virus was feeding off fear, which set off a chain reaction in the body. She decided to expose herself deliberately so she could transmute it and use that to generate a cure. Nazir started the process with Tula watching, but the harder that Nazir tried to fight the virus, the stronger the virus became. Nazir said she couldn't fight it because it wasn't human. Then she started burning and died.[2]
