Mikaela was a strong-willed Fremen woman who serves the royal family while longing for a home planet she’s never known.[1]

Biography[]

Mikaela was working at a bar when she watched Keiran Atreides and Ynez Corrino meet up and go to a back room together.[2]

Mikaela was working again when Horace came in with the proceeds from the Arrakis haul, minus what her spice smugglers took off the top. Keiran then came in and showed them he got scans of the palace, including the throne room. Horace wanted to use the plans to attack right away, while Keiran suggested waiting. This made Mikaela think that Keiran couldn't be trusted.

Mikaela then went to see Valya who congratulated her on the harvest attack. Then Valya asked for the names of everyone involved in the raids on Arrakis. She needed to burn the whole unit to assuage Javicco's fears. Mikaela told her to start with Keiran.[3]

After Valya and Theodosia had been removed from the palace, Mikaela brought Valya the news that Lila hadn't survived the Agony, but was able to deliver the message that the key to the reckoning was the one who was born twice, which Valya knew to mean Desmond Hart.[4]

When Mikaela learned that Horace had purchased a drone and was programming it with the palace schematics to enter the throne room and explode, she relayed this information to Theodosia, who told Valya.[5]

Keiran came to Mikaela and told her she needed to leave the planet because they were hunting insurgents. She told him she'd be okay and showed him the chain detonators she'd acquired. Keiran helped her place them and when Desmond came with soldiers and found her secret room, he set them to detonate and then went to Mikaela, telling her they needed to get out. They killed several soldiers on their way out. Once they were outside safely, Keiran told her he recognized her knife and realized she was part of the Sisterhood. He left, telling her he never wanted to see her again.

When Desmond was among the dead bodies, Mikaela reported this to Valya, but said he didn't know how he'd survived. She was upset at Valya's lack of acknowledgement that she'd blown up the business she'd spend years building. Valya gave her something to help her get to their safe house on Arrakis. Mikaela said she wouldn't betray her people and called Theodosia naive when Theodosia said that the Sisterhood was her people.[6]
