Liet-Kynes was an Imperial Planetologist and the father of Chani Kynes.
Biography[]
Liet-Kynes helped Paul Atreides and his mother Lady Jessica to survive after the Siege of Arrakeen, though it came at the cost of his own life. His daughter Chani set up a workshop in Sietch Tabr to continue her father's work by growing plants. Paul promised that he would repay Liet's debt by making his dream a reality and terraforming Arrakis into a fertile planet with an abundance of water.[1]
