Naib Kari was a Fremen Naib and Fedaykin during the time of the First Spice War.
Biography[]
Atreides Campaign[]
Initial Capture[]
Kari's sietch was ambushed by House Harkonnen forces. To avoid capture, she slit her wrists with her Crysknife, however she was later found by the House Atreides and brought to their base of operations to be interrogated by the Atreides Mentat Noree Moneo. Moneo tried to initiate friendly contact with Kari, offering her Spice coffee. After she refused, he had to force feed it to her, as to avoid Kari experiencing Spice Melange withdraws. The rest of Kari's sietch was captured in Sietch Tabr by the Harkonnens. Moneo ordered the Commander to capture Sietch Tabr, but ensure it was not destroyed in the process. Kari exclaimed 'Taqwa'. To her, it was as if they were already dead.
Return of the Commander[]
The Commander returned and brought news to Moneo that the Fremen at Tabr were dead. Kari unsheathed her crysknife and held it at Moneo's neck, telling the commander that the Fremen has killed themselves, as to avoid Harkonnen capture, as she had attempted to do. Kari told Moneo that the Fremen were not the allies of the Atreides, and that Dune belonged only to Shai-Hulud. Kari scoffed at Moneo, telling him that the Atreides were so focused on the strength of the Harkonnens that they had neglected to consider the strength of the House Ordos. Kari told the commander that there was a Smuggler starport that had been built on the sacred Fremen Funeral Plain and that the Fremen would consider helping the Atreides cause if they destroyed it.
Final battle[]
Much later after the Commander succesfully destroyed the spaceport, the Atreides were led into a trap on the funeral plain by the Corrino. Moneo planned to concentrate their attack on the Ordos, and only fight the Harkonnens should they come to their aid. Moneo looked through his observation telescope and discovered Fremen forces. The Commander looked through the scope and discovered Kari and the Fremen forces declaring their loyalty to the Atreides. Ultimately, the Atreides and Fremen defeated the Ordos and the Harkonnens, before bombing the Padishah Emperor Frederick IV's Hutment and winning the First Spice War.
Harkonnen Campaign[]
The Mentat Hayt De Vries captured Kari and brought her to the Harkonnen base, telling her that the Baron of the Harkonnens was nearby. Hayt told Kari it was her last chance to divulge information about Fremen before she met death at the hands of the Baron. Kari told Hayt he 'stunk like a corpse' Hayt informed her that he was a corpse, a Tleilaxu Ghola, and that she too, would die soon enough. He alerted the Baron and shoved Kari into his room.
