Karee Marques by Retrato
Karee Marques [d. 4 BG] was one of the last Sorceresses of Rossak.
Biography[]
In 88 BG, during the Rossak Epidemic, she was an assistant of Supreme Sorceress Ticia Cenva. She welcomed Raquella Berto-Anirul and Nortie Vandego, and befriended them while tending the sick. When they both were infected to the epidemic, Karee tended Raquella, and when Berto-Anirul formed a new Sisterhood on Rossak she joined it.
Eighty-three years later, Karee was one of the few remaining Sorceresses in the Sisterhood. She underwent mentat training on Lampadas under the tutelage of Headmaster Gilbertus Albans, and became the primary analyst of the breeding records of the new Sisterhood of Rossak. Karee was the one who discovered a disturbing projection involving the bloodline of Emperor Salvador Corrino, revealing her discoveries to Reverend Mother Raquella Berto-Anirul. Unfortunately, the attempt to sterilize Salvador resulted in the shutdown of the school and the execution of the sister-mentats and the remaining Sorceresses by Imperial troops. Karee Marques was one of those slain.
Hearing of this, Cioba Venport, Karee's granddaughter and Josef Venport's wife, convinced her husband to grant Raquella Berto-Anirul and the other sisters sanctuary in exchange for their services. As per Rossak tradition, Karee's body, along with the bodies of the other dead sisters were thrown into the jungle to be consumed by the local fauna.
