Biography[]
Background[]
Kara Valk was the daughter of a gifted woodworker who was killed by a rejected apprentice. She hunted the killer down and killed him by driving the same weapon he used to kill her father through his eye. However, the apprentice had been the bastard son of a minor Harkonnen noble. The local lord appointed her to his House Guard, altering her enlistment papers to state that she had killed the apprentice before she took her oath. The noble was outraged and demanded a Trial by Combat, in which his Judicial Champion was a 300-pound unwashed behemoth. She and her troop drugged the champion's ale the night before and she made short work of him.[1]
Awakening[]
Valk was approached by the Prisoner in the Central Plaza in Arrakeen. She asked for some solari and promised not to send it on semuta, though she then admitted that she probably would.[1]
