The House of Halleck Corrino[1] was a branch of the imperial House Corrino that held the Golden Lion Throne in 2413–2675 AG. The house originated through the marriage of its founder, Halleck I, to Empress Alia II of the House of Shahrukh Corrino.

The relation, if any exists, to the much later House Halleck is unknown.

History[]

The House of Halleck Corrino was founded in 2413 AG by Halleck I, husband of the Shahrukh Corrino empress Alia II (r. 2411–2441). Halleck served as co-ruler with Alia until her death in 2441, whereafter he ruled alone as emperor (despite his own lack of imperial blood) until his own death in 2458.[1] Upon Halleck's death, the throne was inherited by his son, Halleck II (r. 2458–2541).[1] It is unclear if the Halleck Corrinos were blood descendants of the Shahrukh Corrino emperors through Alia II.[n 1]

The descendants of Halleck I ruled from the Golden Lion Throne until 2675, when they were followed by a Triumvirate of regents and eventually the House of Sidir Corrino.[1]

Descendants[]

The founder of the later House of Ezhar Corrino, Ezhar V (r. 4404–4411), claimed descent from the Halleck Corrino emperor Ezhar IV (r. 2542–2579), though this descent was unproven.[1]

Family tree[]

The family relationships follow the list of emperors in The Dune Encyclopedia[1]

Notes[]

  1. The list of emperors in the The Dune Encyclopedia states that Halleck II and Avelard III were sons of Halleck I, but does not record whether they also were sons of Alia II. It is thus also possible that they were children from another marriage.
