Emperor Henoor III[1] (d. 1604) was Emperor of the Known Universe (r. 1538–1604 AG), succeeding his cousin Wensic II as ruler of the Corrino Imperium.[1] As Wensic's cousin, Henoor was a great-grandson of Mikael I.
Succession[]
Henoor died in 1604 without immediate heirs,[2] rendering the ruling House of Alman Corrino extinct.[1] There were several potential successors among the Imperial Cousines. Several contenders attempted to seize power, including Duke Abulurd VI Harkonnen, threatening to plunge the Imperium into civil war. The situation was resolved by Count Philippos Atreides, who persuaded a special session of the Landsraad that time was required to sort out the various imperial claims.[2]
On Philippos's suggestion, a Regency controlled by the Landsraad was set up,[2] with Sa'ad Khûmali as the first regent.[1] The regency lasted until 1680, when Corrin IV, a descendant of Emperor Corrin II (r. 477–482), was proclaimed emperor.[1]
