Harrow Harkonnen was a Baron of House Harkonnen and a rising politician who harbored a strong desire to elevate his House to its former glory.[1]
Biography[]
Harrow attended the engagement party for the wedding between Ynez Corrino and Pruwet Richese. At the party, he made a business proposition to Javicco Corrino, who excused himself to get away from Harrow.[2]
Harrow was surprised when his aunt, Valya, returned home for the first time since joining the Sisterhood. Despite this, he welcomed her in and asked after Tula.[3]
Valya told Harrow of her plan to restore their family name and the Great House's trust in the Sisterhood. In order to be at the palace to saved Javicco from the rebels' plan, she needed Harrow to join the High Council and take her with him as his Truthsayer. In order to get him invited to join the High Council, she had other Truthsayers put in their leaders' ears that they needed someone who had more to gain than to lose by asking formally that they investigate Desmond Hart for the murder of Pruwet Richese. This led to Harrow receiving the invitation. He went to Landsraad with Valya accompanying him, and put in the formal request. When the speaker asked which House he was making the request against, Ynez entered and interrupted, publicly accusing her father. They then watched as Desmond admitted to killing Pruwet, but called it an execution and said it was because Pruwet had a thinking machine, forbidden technology. He then had Horace and Duri brought in and revealed that they were part of a plot to kill Javicco and everyone else in the room via a drone he'd also confiscated. He then publicly executed them plus Lord Hagal.
Harrow and Valya left disappointed. Evgeny was unsupportive, reminding Harrow that he'd said all along that Valya was only out to help herself.[4]
Harrow went to see Desmond, apologizing for his accusation. Desmond told him it bordered on treason, but said he could overlook it if Harrow gave him information that was worth his while. Harrow told him how he could find insurgents at an underground market. Desmond was pleased, but said to be completely off the hook, Harrow would have to provide proof that Valya was involved.
When Harrow got home, he told Valya the lead she'd given him helped and he hoped he'd be forgiven. Then he asked Valya what the Sisterhood was up to. She said they were serving the Imperium as always. Harrow then left to attend Evgeny's funeral and promised to send on Valya's regards.[5]
