"Not much to tell. I'm a Rig Chief like my father before me and his before him. My family has served the Miner's Guild for nearly five centuries."
―Hanso to the Prisoner[src]

Chief Hanso was a crew member of the Mithra.

Biography[]

Background[]

Hanso was born into a family that had served the Spice Miner's Guild for almost five centuries, eventually becoming a Rig Chief like his father and grandfather had been. He suffered from poor eyesight since childhood and wore corrective lenses. He was stationed on the Mithra when it was shot down in Hagga Basin. He survived alongside Lieutenant Drangh and Quartermaster Nasher Hix, but they were left stranded and surrounded by outlaws. During the crash, his glasses were smashed, rendering him unable to see.[1]

Awakening[]

Hanso was approached by the Prisoner and warned them that despite his blindness, he could still kill them if necessary. He expressed his suspiscion that Malek, the captain of the Carryall crew, was responsible for their predicament. He informed them that several of the Dune Men had been abducted by a local criminal element and tasked them with attacking the Kirab camps and recovering the Spice Miners' Guild tags. He provided the Dune Men's last known locations before their signals stopped and wished them good hunting. Once they returned with the tags, he inspected them and found four with names which did not match any member of the Mithra's crew. He then tasked them with searching the wreck for survivors, of which they found three.[1]
