Gina was a character in The Swordsman.

Gina lived on Amaranth III with her father Rodrigo. The slave Varek took over their villager and placed Gina and Rodrigo in a dungeon. One day, a stranger calling himself the Swordsman fell into the dungeon and they nursed him back to health before using a secret exit to escape. The Swordsman forged a new sword and inspired the villagers to rise in revolt against Varek. Varek was killed and his followers were defeated, though Rodrigo was killed in the conflict. Gina was devastated, though the Swordsman assured her that he did not die in vain and advised her to lead the villagers in remaining steadfast in their duties, confident that the Spacing Guild would return to claim them. Gina thanked the Swordsman and told him she would never forget him, only to discover that he was already gone.[1]
