Frank was a neighbor of Duv Dennick and often helped him with his mechanical needs, though it always ended in disaster. He often made strange additions to technology, such as a fart filter to his stillsuit and a musical accompaniment to a thumper. He greeted Duv one morning in an Ornithopter that he has built, but crashed it immediately afterwords, only suffering a flesh wound. He later created Gary, an automaton intended to defend Depot 12. Inspector Rix arrived and asked to see the security, at which point Frank activated Gary, assuring Rix that no Butlerian proscriptions had been broken. Gary mistook them for intruders and opened fire, killing Rix.
Frank later created the Flavor Enhancer 3000, which he intended to use to help Duv win the Spice Cake competition. He arrived at the competition and had two helpings of the cake made by the competition's usual winner Rashad, as his cake tasted better than ever. Meeting with Duv, he sprinkled the secret ingredient on the cake, which won the competition. However, it caused everyone who ate it to belch profusely, leading to Duv being disqualified.[1]
