The Foldspace Shipping Company was a venture of VenKee Enterprises founded by Adrien Venport in 88 BG after the Battle of Corrin. Their spacefolders were navigated by prescience enabled by melange.
In 1 AG, after the Battle of Denali, they became the Spacing Guild and monopolized space commerce, transport and interplanetary banking, establishing more uniform and orderly interstellar travel and finance, as well as the imposing of the restrictions of the Guild Peace. This was the beginning the Guild calender.
