- "I was Eulalia Harthorn. Marchioness. Patroness. And now? Now I'm just the ghost of better parties and worse decisions."
- ―Eulalia Harthorn to the Prisoner[src]
Marchioness Eulalia Harthorn was a member of the Janusian Faithful.
Biography[]
Background[]
Eulalia Harthorn travelled to Arrakis alongside other nobles including Phaedra Vye, Mon Torsival, Marara Torbin, Priorin Tannat, Len Artuni, Agade Yimari, Ogdan Barbalescu, Menoria Tamar, Roella Ramsby, Oona Byrn, Venesir Ask, Bianca Bagetti, Hesperia Farani and Ansel Virro. The group were very secretive, refusing to dine with House Atreides, attend the salons or allow anyone outside their group to dine with them.[1]
Awakening[]
Harthorn attended a banquet alongside Virro, Yimari, Ramsby, Bagetti and Byrn, during which they all drank poisoned wine. The others died, but she survived the longest due to her toxin modulator. As she was near deathm she was approached by the Prisoner, who questioned her about what had happened. She forbade them from removing her mask, for the masks had been poisoned alongside the wine and sealed to their wearers' faces. She saw it as a fitting end for them due to their tendence to double cross one another. She expressed her dislike of Dhood Shazz and Sub-Prefect Tors, the latter of whom she confirmed had not been present at the banquet. Before she died, she asked the Prisoner to kill all of her servants to prevent them from stealing her belongings and gossiping about her.[1]
