Padishah Emperor Estil II[1] (d. 1099) was Emperor of the Known Universe (r. 1051–1099 AG), succeeding his father, the usurper[2] Feyd I, as ruler of the Imperium.[1]
Reign[]
Unlike his father, Estil was a weak and indecisive man, though not without intelligence. Resistance against the rule of the House of Feyd had by the time of Estil's accession evolved into a full Civil War. By 1027, it had reached a stalemate, with the Feyd forces controlling the main trading worlds, the rebels (including some noble houses, most notably House Atreides, and the Sardaukar) controlling the outer colonies, and the Spacing Guild selling transport to both sides.[2]
In 1096, Odusseus Atreides managed to conduct a surprise raid on Ibleam III and Ibleam IV, which long remained a classic example of the hit-and-run tactic. This raid was the beginning of the end of the Feyd regime, as their forces began to swiftly lose ground to rebel attacks.[2]
Estil died of natural causes in 1099. At the time of his death, only a few worlds remained under the control of his regime.[2] He was succeeded as emperor by his son, Feyd II.[1][2]
