EsconTran was one of the three major interspace shipping company in operation in the early years of the Imperium, competing with the VenHold Space Fleet and Celestial Transport.
They curried favor with Manford Torondo and the Butlerian movement. Unbeknownst to them, their operations were being undermined via sabotage by Venport operatives, who were sabotaging their Holtzman drives with the purpose of undermining the ET's safety record and perceived reliability in spacefold travel.
During the escalation of conflict between Josef Venport and Manford Torondo, EsconTran was used by the Imperial throne to attempt to fill the gaps that the withdrawal of VenHold Spacing had created.
