Emperor Elrood II,[1] also known by the nickname "Elrood Menemtahe",[1][n 1] was the twelfth Emperor of the Known Universe (r. 207–236 AG).[1] He was a grandson of the third emperor, Corrin I Palaigo, and overthrew his predecessor, Estil I.
Biography[]
Elrood II was a cousin of Emperor Elrood I al-Aziz (r. 73–104 AG), and thus a grandson of Emperor Corrin I Palaigo (r. 14–12 BG).[1] He belonged to the House of Saluso Corrino, which had been supplanted on the Golden Lion Throne by the rival House of Alman Corrino in 184 AG.[1]
In 207 AG, Elrood II was restored to the throne with the aid of Thomas Atreides,[2] deposing the Alman Corrino emperor Estil I.[1] Elrood rewarded Atreides by granting him the Dukedom of Jaddua and a planetary fiefdom.[2] Elrood ruled until 236 AG, when he was succeeded by his cousin Rugo I Saluso II.[1]
