Dune is a forthcoming movie adaptation of Frank Herbert's original novel. It is being made by Paramount Studios and is scheduled for release in 2010 (although this date is now in doubt).
The project was initially going to be directed by Peter Berg (The Kingdom, Hancock) from a script penned by newcomer Josh Zetumer. Berg left the project in 2009 and was replaced by Pierre Morell (District 13, Taken) who will be starting from scratch with his own vision. Reports repeatedly suggest the producers want a "classic interpretation" of Frank Herbert's original novel, but with an emphasis on fast paced action. No casting has yet been announced.
