- ―Dhood Shazz to the Prisoner[src]
Dhood Shazz was the sheriff of Arrakeen.
Biography[]
Background[]
Dhood Shazz became suspiscious when the Janusian Faithful arrived on Arrakis and kept largely to themselves, refusing to dine with House Atreides or allow anyone outside their circle to dine with them. He observed their gatherings and kept files on them, determined to discover any secret agendas. The nobles always wore masks during their gatherings, preventing him from discovering their identities.[1]
Awakening[]
Shazz entered a banquet hall in Arrakeen to investigate the deaths of its occupants. He was approached by the Prisoner and told them to leave, by the order of Padishah Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV. They told him that they wished to speak with someone, to which he informed them that most of the attendees were dead. They told him that they needed to find out if Sub-Prefect Tors was among them and he allowed them to investigate and identify the corpses. They later returned after questioning the butler, Theophilus and the dying Marchioness Eulalia Harthorn. He observed the caskets and discovered that they had not been poisoned. He had Ambrose Lucifera, who had supplied the wine, dragged in and interrogated by the Prisoner, who determined that he had not poisoned the wine. They identified Graf Ansel Virro, Agade Yimari, Roella Ramsby, Oona Byrn and Lady Bianca Bagetti before they were interrupted by the arrival of Tors.[1]
