Biography[]
Kidnapping[]
As a child, Constantine was with his sister when rebels came in to kidnap her. Constantine knew he couldn't stop them, so he told them to take him as well. Their parents covered this up in order to avoid looking weak and even as an adult, Constantine refused to talk about it.[3]
Ynez's Engagement[]
After Constantine's sister, Ynez, was betrothed to Pruwet Richese, Constantine visited Wallach IX to make arrangements for Ynez to train there with the Sisterhood. He wanted her to have private accommodations, but accepted it when Valya said she would be treated the same as any other student once she arrived. Constantine then returned to Salusa Secondus and told Ynez about the arrangements he had made.
The night before Ynez's wedding, they went to Division for one last night out together.[4]
When the Corrino family gathered with the Richeses in light of Pruwet's death, Constantine shared several looks with Shannon Richese. This led to them having sex. During their encounter, they each tried to get information out of the other. This led to Constantine telling Shannon about his father detaining Desmond in connection with Pruwet's death.[3]
Constantine was left between his parents and his sister when Ynez expressed to her parents that she thought Desmond killed Pruwet and she was worried about his continued presence in the palace. Natalya and Javicco insisted the family all come together at the High Council to show a united front.
Ynez and Constantine talked away from their parents and Ynez suggested they force the Landsraad to act on Desmond, which meant publicly betraying their father. Constantine feared the consequences, despite Ynez's assurance and when the time came, Ynez spoke to the Council alone.[5]
Constantine appeared with Natalya, Javicco, and Ynez when Javicco announced a new unit to crack down on insurgents. When Constantine saw Ynez leave early, he followed her and entered her room. She was angry at him for leaving her to talk to the High Council on her own. He said it was because their father was proud of him for coming and he couldn't go through with betraying him.
Constantine was surprised when his mother showed up. She believed he had sent her a message, but he told her he hadn't. Then he informed her that Kasha had died, which she didn't know.
Constantine showed up late to his training with Keiran, so Keiran told him he needed to start taking responsibility for himself and that was his lesson for the day. Constantine stayed and practiced his sword work alone. Francesca found him and he asked her why he was born, because he knew the Sisterhood always had a reason for everything they did. She told him he was born to protect Ynez from those who would bring her harm, including those who claimed to love her. When Constantine put away his sword, he found the palace schematics that Keiran had taken and turned them over to the guards, who arrested Keiran. Constantine was then celebrated at a dinner with his parents. His father announced that he would also be commanding the new fleet.[6]
