- Charlotte Rampling is a longtime fan of Dune, naming it as the one book she would take with her to a desert island in an interview on BBC's Desert Island Discs in 1976.[1] She was approached to portray Lady Jessica in Alejandro Jodorowsky's unsuccessful attempt to adapt the novel, but turned it down in disgust upon reading a scene in which Glossu Rabban and 2,000 of his soldiers all defecate at once as an insult to Duke Leto Atreides.[2]
