Biography[]
Background[]
Brie O'Garee was born on Arrakis to Phin and Tidjii O'Garee. She had four siblings; Phin Jr., Phaedra, Sally and Koda.[1]
Awakening[]
Brie and her family were tracking an off-course freighter in the Hagga Basin when their path was blocked by a rock slide. They were then attacked by the Maas Kharet, who accused them of tresspassing on their territory. They attempted to explain that they were just friendly explorers, but the Maas Kharet called them infidels who were defiling the domain of the electric worms. The Maas Kharet prepared to bury them alive, but fled when a Sandworm approached. The O'Garees reached safety on a rock island and once the worm departed, they followed Koda's signal to the Maas Kharet's camp. The O'Garees killed them, took their helmets and Sally found an old map. They then returned to their shop and prepared the helmets for sale.
The O'Garees followed the the map into the Hagga Basin, where they travelled through relentless sandstorms until they reached a testing station where insects were studied. The family hid when a Harkonnen fire team floated down the shaft from above, realising that they had entered a Harkonnen base instead of a testing station. As they attempted to escape, they encountered a Harkonnen captain, whom Sally and Koda killed in a coordinated attack. Once they returned to Arrakeen, Phin presented their findings to Alastair Christian Chim and the O'Garees were rewarded by House Atreides, as the base had been causing them problems for some time and Gurney Halleck had been planning to lead an assault on it.
The O'Garees set out on a surprise salvage mission when Phin received a distress call from the Leopoldis, a light freighter carrying machine parts out of Bela Tegeuse. Tidjii deduced the coordinates of its location and as they approached Sally and Koda were sent to scout, but the freighter was nowhere to be found. As their parents argued, the children fanned out and Phaedra and Brie discovered a hatch in the ground. Phin opened it after much effort and the family climbed the ladder into the darkness, with Phaedra identifying text written on the ladder shaft as Proto-Galach. Phin informed them that it dated from the Old Empire and Phin Jr. stated that their scientists were sent throughout the Known Universe. Tidjii discovered switches which activated the ancient technology, but found themselves locked inside. Sally had to fit through a utility duct and unhooked the safety rope when she reached the end of it. Reaching a chamber with an abundance of technology, Sally opened the escape route. The family took the ancient machines to their shop and prepared them for sale.[1]
