True, there is a big gap (1,500 yrs) between God Emperor and Herectics, although not as big as between Children and God emperor (3,500 yrs). If you have read Heretics, I advise to continue with book 6 Chapterhouse because it is a direct continuation with quite some action. Hereafter, my advise would be to explore the background of the Dune saga before reading Hunters and Sandworms of Dune.

I dont think the books of Brian will be included in any games or movies. I would even not recommend it. Sofar, I like the books and storyline very much and for me they add a lot of background to the original story. However, they are in a complete different setting and time and i feel it would all be a bit too much away from what people know about the first (2) books.

At the same time, I consider the book “Paul of Dune” as a good addition to the next movie as this story is in the period between the first 2 books.

Voted for Frank for creating and starting the dune universe and writing the original book serie. At the same time thankful for Brian to write down the after, before and in between stories of this magnificent dune universe

I see it as that his transformation is part of the plot, not his inability to be human. The inability is a result and not a requirement for the plot. By transforming he becomes a living god and (almost) invincible which allows him time and power to finish his golden path

It is basically the ultimate step to gain his god status and use it to safeguard his tyrant regime (for the better cause)

Impossible and unacceptable

As far as i read, there are no alien creatures in the dune universum which communicate in any form of language.

I must confess, i haven’t read the books after “chapterhouse dune” so i’m unaware of who the “ones with many faces” are from which the Honered Matres were fleeing back into the dune empire.

You have some races which are described as different looking such as the Bene Tleilaxu and its face dancer (shapeshifters) but i would not call them creatures.

Most creatures described in the books are nowadays animals which have evolved on the basis of their living habitats and some have been modified.

Some of the creatures/animals i recall are bulls, donkeys, sandworms and sandtrouts, desert mouse (muad’dib), laza tigers, D-wolves, fur-whales, fishes, scorpions.

On earth the butler jihad started when the enslaved people rised up against their AI suppressors. Earth then got nuked by their “own people” to kill the AI machines along with its total population. Leaving it as an empty place.
