Disclaimer, I have never read the books. Dune 2021 introduced me to this franchise. I just had an idea for a prequel that takes place many years before the birth of Paul Atreidies. I watched a show called House of The Dragon, which takes place thousands of years before Game of Thrones. I just had a thought that Dune would be perfect for that kind of spinoff about the early stages of house Atreides and other houses in the galaxy. I did some research and I would like a show on how the desert war started, what started the fuel between the Atreidies and the Harkonnens. It probably won't take place thousands of years before the events of Dune but I would love to see a House of The Dragon style show for Dune. Just an interesting thought of mine I hope you guys are more of Dune fans then me, I still have a lot to learn about Dune
Does anybody know if The Emperor will appear in the Dune movie? I didn't get any info on that anywhere.
Or maybe the villain of first part will be the Baron and The Emperor will show up in the sequel?
And what about princess Irulan?
Maybe it's a silly question but I think I just don't get it...
The Emperor was afraid of House of Atreides to gain too much power and to become a danger for the throne so he decided to conspire with the House of Harkonnen to eliminate them. That's clear.
But why the Emperor organized this whole strange action with fief and moving Atreides to Arrakis? Especially that it meant getting rid of Harkonnens from there? What was the master plan?
I mean, I understand the Emperor couldn't start an open war agains Atreides but couldn't he just secretly let Harkonnens do that? After all, they did it anyway when Atreides reached Arrakis, together the Emperor and Harkonnens. So what was the point of this anyway? Atreides were weaker on Arrakis than on Caladan? Or what?
Seriously, I read the book recently but I totally missed the point on this issue. Can anybody explain it to me? Thanks!
